Festivals truly bring out the rich diversity of India in its best form.Many festivals
are celebrated in the school.
Here is a spectrum of Indian festivals and their significance.
National Festivals
Independence Day, August 15, commemorates the day in 1947 when India achieved
freedom from British rule.It is celebrated with flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural
programmes in the school
Republic Day is India's great national festival.It is celebrated every year
on January 26, in our school with great pomp and pageant.
Children's Day
Children’s Day is observed as a day to celebrate ‘Childhood’. This day is marked
as a tribute to all the children in India. With their innocent smiles and angelic
eyes, children have touched our hearts.Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November
as the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru.Children’s Day is celebrated with
‘Fancy Dress’ competitions and ‘Balakavi sammelanam’ a special feature introduced
by Mrs Sati Sukavani our Ex Telugu Pandit. Young student poets participate in this
occasion.
Self Governing Day is organized where the students take the role of different teaching
and non teaching members.Competitions are conducted and prizes are distributed on
this occasion. Children take pleasure in the cultural items and the messages given
by the guests.
Teacher's Day
Teacher’s Day is celebrated on 5th September as a honour to all the teachers in
India.This day is observed as a birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan
a great teacher,diplomat and President of India.Students atone the role of the teachers
on this day. Children enjoy the day by conducting competitions for the teachers.
Other celebrations
July 1st is celebrated as School Foundation Day to commemorate the founders of the
school.The Management gives gifts to all the staff members as token of appriciation
for their service.
Science and Craft exhibitions are organized every year to bring out the innate abilities
of the children.
Farewell party is organized for the outgoing X-Class students. We wish them
good luck and brilliant prospects.
Annual Day is celebrated with great fervor.Eminent guests position the dias
and articulate their thoughts to the audience.Cultural programmes add lustre to
the day. Laudable cultural items like dance, dramas, ballets etc are displayed by
students.
Regular health checkups are conducted for the children.
Students and staff members are always kind and compassionate and are prepared to
provide help in the hour of need.They made door to door collections to contribute
for National Defense Fund, Help age India Organization, Flood Relief Fund,Cyclone
relief Fund etc which shows their humanitarian disposition.
