Curriculum, Extra-Curricular Activities, Remedial coaching
The School reports give complete and analytical feedback to students and parents.Every
month parents get information on their child‘s performance based on combination
of performance in monthly tests and assignments.Students also get Consolidated Reports
several times in a year.All students get a personalized student sketch written by
their class teachers.There will be Four Unit Tests in the months of July, August,
November and February.Quarterly Examinations will be held in the months of September
or October.Half Yearly Examinations are conducted during December or January.Annual
Examinations will be conducted during the months of March or April.Examinations
and tests are only a small part of the evaluation process.The non-academic subjects
are also taught according to a predetermined programme.Each subject area is subdivided
into categories applicable to that subject to make the process more exact.They are
also evaluated on the basis of monthly tests and their performance in assignments.This
ensures steady revision for the students and enable them to be more thorough.
Continuous Evaluation Includes:
- Class assignments
- Home assignments
- Project works
- Preparation of herbariums
- Preparation of models
- Monthly tests
- Examinations
The school will send the progress report of the student after every unit test and
terminal examinations.The parents or the guardians are requested to scrutinize the
report and send it back within three days.
CURRICULUM
The curriculum gives a balanced importance to academics, computers, craft and physical
education and integrates them with each other in an intended approach. Thus the
students learn a subject through varied techniques.The achievement of our school's
system lies in vigilant preparation of each lesson in the school year and in the
assessment of student performance.Each lesson is planned in advance and evaluated
within a flexible structure with desired improvement.
Classes 6 to 10 follow a syllabus that has been set by SSC Board.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Apart from the general schedule,there is specified schedule programme at the School.
Competitions, debates,cultural programmes,festival celebrations, extension lectures
by distinguished personalities - and of course, examinations - all are planned at
the beginning of the year as part of the curriculum which is judiciously timed.
Extracurricular activities teach responsibility.In order to participate in an activity;
a student must balance the other aspects of life with the commitments the activity
requires. Students must learn to devote appropriate amounts of time to everything.
Extracurricular activities teach communication and teamwork.Extracurricular activities
give students a way to meet new friends and find others who share their common interests.The
conventional team sports include Cricket, Running race, chess, carom board etc.
Activities which cover sports, music, crafts and many other interests, are organized
extra to the curriculum offered in school by the teachers.
Children are regularly taken out within and outside the city to places that will
help them relate what they are learning in the classroom to the real world. Excursions,
picnic and local visits are our routine programmes.
Remedial coaching
The School gives special importance to the students preparing for Classes X Board
examinations.Writing an examination successfully requires special academic and emotional
training.Therefore remedial coaching for these classes are taken up during which
time the subject matter is discussed and evaluated.Individualized special coaching
takes place during this time.Subject teachers are accessible on particular days
for nay additional help.
Other steps taken towards examination preparation are:
- Exhaustive question banks for each topic prepared by teachers
- Training in examination skills
- supervise each student to plan her program
for study and revision
- Regular follow up of the above
The daily private study hour helps the children develop self-study.
Computer education
Since the initiation of computers they have become an integral part of the education
system these days .The phenomenal growth of computers in modern society has been
dramatic and spectacular.Computer literacy is a vital component they have a dominant
impact on the ways of students Computers occupy a very imperative task in education.
Computer is the discovery of lack of knowledge.The students are provided with Computer
education.The school is dedicated to enhance the learning opportunities for school
children by increasing their access to current computers and information technology.The
school has provided computer education to girls and boys, introducing them to the
world of information technology. we support fully-functioning computer laboratory,
custom designed and user-friendly computer workbooks, and well-qualified instructors.
Our unique program teaches basic skills.
LIBRARY
Library develops interest in students to read books.We aim to give the children
enjoyment in reading and encourage them to turn naturally to books for pleasure
and information.There is a wide range of reading material in our library where the
children can relax,choose books and read quietly.As children become proficient,
their reading plays an important part in their school activities.Teachers themselves
promote love of books and encourage the them to become more careful and critical.There
are quiet times when all the children have an occasion to read in silence.Children
also use reference material to discover information.There are reference books and
other books which can be borrowed for a specific time.There are journals, periodicals,
story books, books based on nature, geography, encyclopedias, dictionaries, comics
etc for the students to explore and enjoy.
