The college was started in the 1970 with Intermediate sections both in English and
Telugu media in B Com, [Regular] B SC [MPC &BZC]. During the span of 37 years of
the existence of the college new courses like B SC [MEC], B SC [MSC], B Com [Computers
and BCA. The results have been encouraging and many of our students brought laurels
to the college.It gained separate recognition from Osmania University from 1977.The
students come from a wide range of backgrounds and have diverse interests which
enrich the life of the College
Our principal aims are to provide an appropriate academic challenge which enables
each pupil to realise his potential, an environment which promotes a good work ethos
and encourages all boys to acquire an independent and critical approach to learning
and a wide range of sporting, musical and dramatic opportunities and co-curricular
activities through which boys can develop a breadth of interests and learn to work
co-operatively;
The Principals, past and present add luster to the college as efficient administrators
and contribute sufficiently to the development of educational standards.They enforce
discipline and secure the co-operation of the staff and the student community.
A new Annex Building of G+3 floors consisting of 25,000 sft with an expenditure
of 30, 00,000 was constructed in the year 2000.Flooring of the third floor in the
Main Block was taken up and completed in the 2002.
The college is having fully equipped laboratories in Physics, Chemistry, Botany,
Zoology, Electronics, Computers and a Library having a good collection of more than
10,000. A separate Computer Lab with 35 Pentium System was established in the year
2000.
We have teaching faculty who are highly qualified. Dr K Venkateswar Rao and Dr K
Vara Prasad Rao both Readers in the department of Chemistry were presented Best
Teacher Award by Government of Andhra Pradesh during two consecutive years. Presently
the college runs with the strength of thousand.
It is a Government Aided college and the management is also offering certain courses
under the Un-Aided category. The infrastructure for the aided and un-aided courses
is separate and present in the same campus in Ameerpet.
True to its Logo and symbol – Tamasoma Jyothirgamaya, we are leading the youth of
today from ignorance to knowledge.
