Dr Melkote Memorial Women’s College was established in the year 1982. The college
is christened after late Dr G S Melkote, the founder President of Nutan Vidhya Samithi.Women’s
education plays a very important role in the overall development of the country.It
not only helps in the growth of half of the human resources but also in improving
the eminence of life at home and outside.
The college has made its beginning by introducing Science and Arts at Intermediate
level in both Telugu and English media.
The college aims to provide a complete, meaningful and revevant education to women
so that they are intellectually well-trained, morally upright,socially aware and
spiritually inspired
One of the most stupendous features of the institution is that the faculty has rich
teaching experience of more than two decades,inculcating discipline and co-operation
among the students.Some of them are credited with doctorate degrees in their respective
subjects.The college has full fledged library with more than 5000 books.
It is a Government Aided college. The infrastructure for the aided and un-aided
courses is separate and present in the same campus.
The college can boast of a building of four floors of its own with the required
infrastructure and a full fledged library with more than five thousand books. They
are not only for academic purpose but also a variety of general books for competitive
exams.
